Each enchanter skill allows a corresponding enchantment to be performed on items. For an enchantment to succeed, the appropriate ingredient materials must be available, along with the item being enchanted and any other prerequisites must be satisfied. Once this is done, the enchanter specifies the number of months during which he will be working on the enchantment full time. If all these conditions are fulfilled, the chance of the enchantment succeeding is 1 - (((L^2) / (M * SL * EL)), where L is the level of the enchantment being attempted, M is the number of months used, SL is the enchanter's skill level in the enchantment, and EL is the enchanter's experience level.
If the attempt succeeds, the enchanter also gains 420(L^2)/EL EP.
An enchanter may work on only one enchantment at a time, and only one enchanter may work on any one item at a time.
There are three types of enchanters:
Armorors make magic weapons and armor
Jewelsmith Enchanters make protective rings and amulets
Magic Enchanters make wands andother magic items
