Margaret, 22 days old, in a beautiful white dress.

Margaret at 14 months in a blue kilt in the nova scotia tartan, a white
blouse, and a white hat, holding the wrong end of a wooden sword. This
isn't exactly a dress, but it's still a pretty outfit. The kilt was
bought by her grandparents for her aunt Margaret when her aunt was this
age. The picture was taken at the Long Island Scottish Games at
Old Westbury Gardens.
Margaret at 18 months in a classic navy blue regency style dress with
white trim. This dress was custom made and designed to be worn on an
everyday basis for an extended period of time, to help amortize the
expense. Margaret first wore this dress in November of 2009, and was
still wearing it in in April 2011. This dress is from
Margaret at 21 months in a pretty white dress given to her by her
grandparents. She is wearing soft shoes from
Margaret at 23 months in another regency style dress, this time in deep
burgundy red. This dress was in the same style as the navy blue regency
dress above, but made in a larger size. As with the navy dress, this
dress is from
Margaret at 2 1/4 years in the white dress given to her by her
grandparents, this time wearing low heeled ballroom dance shoes.
Margaret has been fascinated by ballroom dance almost since she was born,
and this picture was taken at the
MIT Ballroom Dance Team's
anniversary dance. The shoes are from
Freed of London.
Margaret at 2 1/2 years in a red Trilogi wool coat and a beaded hat and
gloves knit by her mother. This outfit never fails to draw compliments
whenever she wears it. The material is an 80% wool blend and the size
she is wearing is a 3T. It's presently calf length on her 36 inch frame;
hopefully we will be able to get a second winter's worth of wear out of
it. This coat was purchased at
Little Colony Kids
Two additional views of the Trilogi coat. The boots are
Kamik Rocket waterproof boots, great at keeping Margaret's feet
warm and dry.
Margaret at 2 1/2 years in a wonderful cream dress with brown trim. The
dress is a full circle to permit freedom of movement - evidently up to
and including defending one's dollhouse with a wooden sword! No wonder
her hair is a bit mussed. The bodice is similar to the regency pattern,
and this dress is also from
Aria Couture; the link
has photos with
additional details of construction.
Margaret at 3 years old in a long, full navy blue dance dress. This
dress is made of the same material and has the same bodice style as the
blue regency dress, but has a full circle skirt for freedom of movement.
As with the regency dress, this dress is from

Margaret at 3.2 years in one of the
many available versions of Belle's
yellow ball gown from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. She wore
this dress almost full time until it wore out, which only took a week -
typical for nice looking but inexpensive commercial dresses.

print on the grounds of the Jefferson memorial.

Margaret at 3.4 years old in red Chinese dress with gold trim.
The dress was purchased in the Boston Chinatown.
Margaret at 3.7 years old in a long sleeved victorian winter dress,
accompanied by her brother Duncan. As with the cream and blue regency
dance dresses, this dress has a full circle skirt and is from
